Where are we?
On the Atlantic coast
Le Hameau des Cascades is located 35 km south of Essaouira, on the coast road between Sidi Kaouki and Smimou. Easily accessible, the Hameau allows you to enjoy a true immersion in nature, while remaining close to the main centers of activity in the region: Essaouira and Sidi Kaouki.
In the heart of a culturally rich Berber region, the Hameau is surrounded by a multitude of small douars, groups of ancient houses and farms where villagers live in the traditional way. You'll come across donkeys, dromedaries and numerous herds of goats and sheep, and can wander between the fields, where the men work by hand.
Overlooking the Oued Aghbalou and the Aghanaj valley, Le Hameau des Cascades is the ideal place to recharge your batteries in harmony with nature. Each room offers a view of the wadi and the sea below. Between ocean and countryside, you'll wake to birdsong and the braying of donkeys, and gently drift off to sleep, lulled by the sound of the waves.
Recharge your batteries in an exceptional setting, facing the sea, in the heart of Moroccan nature,
Oued Aghbalou and the Sidi Mbarek waterfalls
Between sea and river
Water: the wealth of the valley! In a region where rainfall is often scarce, the Oued Aghbalou enables people to irrigate and cultivate their fields all year round. The fertility of the soil and the presence of this precious water mean that we can enjoy constant greenery, a veritable showcase of freshness.
The wild Aghanaj beach, a 15-minute walk away, unfurls its stretches of untamed dunes. An ideal vantage point from which to watch the village fishermen spread their nets at low tide, or simply enjoy a meditation or a stroll at sunset.
A 20-minute walk away, the waterfalls and the Sidi Mbarek marabout are two of the region's highlights. Where river, mountain, dunes and ocean meet, there's something naturally powerful about this area. The perfect spot for a picnic sheltered from the wind!
The many footpaths that criss-cross the surrounding countryside and the diversity of the scenery make the Hameau des Cascades a popular starting point for walkers and hikers.
Essaouira and the surrounding area
Essaouira
A city of trade winds, Essaouira draws its charm and uniqueness from its special climate, temperate all year round. Its medina, with its ramparts facing the sea, is steeped in history. You'll love wandering through its narrow streets, home to numerous artists and craftspeople. The town is particularly active, both on the artistic scene, with the organization of numerous festivals, and in the sporting arena, with the development of water sports.
Sidi Kaouki
Sidi Kaouki is a small village on the seafront, where you'll find plenty of activities to liven up your stay: water sports, horse or camel riding, or simply lazing on the beach... You can enjoy grilled meats, tagines and other traditional dishes in small beach restaurants, with a magnificent view of the sea.
Smimou
A traditional village in the Moroccan countryside, Smimou and its large Sunday souk are a must for inhabitants of the surrounding douars. Perfect for stocking up on vegetables and soaking up local Berber life. Located on the main road between Essaouira and Agadir, you'll always find something going on!
